Representatives of Simmons Equipment and CONSOL receive the Mine Safety and Health Innovation Award in Washington, DC.

Simmons Equipment recently received the Mine Safety and Health Technology
Innovation Award from the U.S. National Institute of Occupational Safety and Health
(NIOSH) during a ceremony in Washington, D.C. on November 10th.

The award is given to organizations that have made significant advancements in
enhancing mine safety by applying technology or improved processes in innovative
ways. Simmons Equipment was honored along with CONSOL Energy Inc. for their
partnership in designing modifications that drastically improved safety features on
their battery-powered S360 scoop.

Matt Simmons, CEO of Simmons Equipment, said of the award, “We are very proud to
receive the technology innovation safety award from NIOSH. I can’t think of a greater
honor than to be recognized for protecting the most precious resource in coal mining,
the miners. We design all of our equipment with the health and safety of the men and
women who use it as the primary focus above all else.”
